This bed and breakfast is located in a completely renovated (c. 1850) farmhouse with a sandstone block foundation (hence the name). It is in the centre of a five acre plot of land creating a very serene and quiet atmosphere. The deer, raccoons, foxes, and squirrels roam freely and can be easily viewed along with the birds from the full-view porch located on the west side of the building.


We are located about 8 km north of New Glasgow where there is a variety of shopping available, all major banks are represented, numerous local attractions, parks providing walking and biking trails as well as a large variety of restaurants to suit your culinary desires.

There are two provincial parks nearby. Within walking distance Powells Point Park provides picnic areas, hiking trails, ocean-side beach and areas where kayaking is possible. A short drive (5 Km, 3 mi) brings you to Melmerby Beach where change and toilet facilities are available and there is a partially supervised beach which runs about 2 km. along the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait.


About a half a kilometrer away is Mike's Harbour Beach Market providing a convenient source for groceries, ice cream cones, gas and diesel fuel, and houses the local NSLC liquor and beer outlet.


The accommodation has two spacious air conditioned bedrooms with queen sized beds and 4 piece en-suite bathrooms.


A full breakfast is available and served between 8 and 9 am in the main dining room or in the full-view screened porch.



                     Nestled between mature maple and spruce trees this accommodation provides a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
